Ok, let me please start by saying that I am NOT implying that what I saw was a ghost. I am simply stating what I saw in hopes of receiving some feedback on any similar experiences. This incident is 100% true. If you\'re wondering why the details of my story are so exact being that the incident happened so long ago, it\'s because the experience has never left my mind to this day. I live in a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. Its a medium size city and mostly residential. The year was 1979 and I was 9 years old. My house at the time was fairly small and my sister and I shared a room (we had twin beds). One night, I awoke from a deep sleep and found myself wide awake. It was one of those incidents when you wake up and you are not groggy at all. You are completely clear minded and aware of your surroundings. Anyway, as I laid there in bed, I saw plain and clear a young woman standing to the right side of my bed. She wasn\'t moving or speaking. Just staring. The weirdest thing of all however, was that I wasn\'t in the least bit frightened. A kid my age would normally have been terrified. But I specifically remember an absolute calmness about me. The woman had long hair and was wearing a light colored dress. Without taking my eyes off of her, I whispered (loudly) to my sister in an attempt to wake her up. Even at that age, I knew I had to have someone see it to prove it wasn\'t my mind playing tricks. After numerous attempts, my sister awoke. As she sat up in bed, I remember disctinctly asking \"Are you seeing this too?\" After a few seconds pause, she said \"YES!\" We both laid there staring at this woman who never took her eyes off of me. Never moved. Never spoke. After a very short time, my sister said \"Lets get to mom and dads room now!\". Even though I wasn\'t scared, I agreed with her and we both jumped up and ran down the hall to my parents room. The next morning, we both related the story to my parents. They never once doubted us. Years later I asked my mom why she never questioned our truthfulness about that night. She replied that she just \"knew\" we were telling the truth, mainly because our story NEVER changed. Not one detail has ever been added or taken away from the story. And to a 9 year old boy with a vivid imagination, that would have most certainly happened when it came time to re-tell the story. I never saw the woman again. Neither did my sister. Also, nothing even remotely unexplained ever happened in that house afterwards. I have obviously thought about that night alot over the years. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that it was my Guardian Angel, simply letting me know she was there. That would explain the fact that A) I was not remotely scared or afraid and B) Ive never saw her again. To this day, my sister is a little reluctant to talk about it. She too agrees that it was probably a Guardian Angel letting herself be known to me. I would love to hear if anyone has experienced anything similar to what happened to me and would love to hear everyone\'s input. |
