Numerous evidence in form of narratives, verbal stories, hands-on research, etc., seem to affirm that next to the eyes, the ears are the favorite audio perceptors of the paranormal to receive signals for a human being or an animal to know their presence .

The following are examples of sound (audio) signals perceived through the human ears:

Sounds from outside the room or house
With our ears we can perceive and judge if the sound came from outside the room or outside the house. Examples of these are: a loud bang or crash, scratching, a voice uttering some message incomprehensible or not, voices in a conversation, footsteps, shuffling, scream, groan, shout, cry, sob, etc. We must confirm and understand if these sounds are man-made; if they are not, then they are paranormal sound signals.

Sounds from inside the room
We can hear the same kinds of sound just mentioned and additionally, whispers, sighs, breathing, beeps, etc. can be heard inside the room. Our hearing perception will judge if these sounds came from a distance (about 10 ft), very near (5 ft), very close (1 or 2 ft), or right beside us. If nobody or no animal in the room caused these sounds or if nothing man-made such as electronic contraptions/gismos are found in the room, then the sound is definitely paranormal. If the sound is man-made or done with electronic contraptions or gizmos, the prankster must be hunted and caught.

Sounds from inside our ears
There are indeed narratives, as well as first hand personal experiences, which confirm that some paranormal power can send sound or audio signals right into our ears. Through our hearing perception, we can judge for certain that the sound in fact was not from outside the ears. The sound is similar to the audio output from earphones that are inserted deeply into the ears. The common sound signals are voice messages comprehensible or not, groan, moan, sigh, sob, cry, hello, hi, giggles, etc. These sounds are definitely paranormal audio signals. There can bo no other explanation. A cab driver related his experience wherein a mysterious passenger gave him driving directions and he swore the voice came from inside his ears, not from the passenger!

Sounds which seem to be in our ears and linger
This is a kind of sound (if we can call it a sound) from which our audio preceptors cannot judge any distance, therefore, the source cannot be determined. It signals trouble for the person. Very probably it emanates from the mind, hence no distance can be perceived. Most of the time the person thinks the sound comes from the outside environment. This predicament is experienced when we have done something wrong or are guilty of some seriously hideous act such as a crime. We might probably call this sound as "THE SOUND OF CONSCIENCE". Very commonly said, "You are hearing things". It is the most troublesome/dangerous "sound". It can cause insomnia, health deterioration and worst, mental illness. This SOUND OF CONSCIENCE is definitely not paranormal. A person who is constantly bothered by this predicament must wear earphones and listen to good music. If this does not work, professional help must be sought or the person must confess and get rid of his/her guilt before the trouble gets deeper and to resume and enjoy normal life again.
