I watched a fascinating program today on transplant memories on More4 did anyone else catch it?

Anyway, it basically said how people who recieved Organs, notably hearts, frequently adopted new aspects to their personality, tastes etc that correlate directly to the donar's own tastes...

One example was of a lady called Clare Berman who had a heart and lung transplant from a biker who died on his bike called Tim Lamarand. She suddenly developed a taste for beer, green peppers and chicken nuggets after the transplant and interestingly enough even had a dream where she met this guy and found his name was Tim L. The interesting part is that she had no idea, due to confidentiality what the guys name really was or even the gender of the donar...

Donars frequently donate memories, fears, musical and food tastes etc to name but a few...

How can this be? What do you think? huh.gif
Zeus
in that case, let's hope they regroup einstein's brain and donate it to me in case mine goes bad, hehe
Tanithellen
I vaguely remember a story about a woman who recieved a donation of cornea's. It turned out they were from a murder victim and she would see the victims last moments before they died.
Or it might've been a movie seen through too much Wild Turkey. either way, the idea's cool. original.gif
Zeus
Good point tanithellen, I also read, on here, a topic about someone (or a post) someone, a woman, who got a heart transplant too, or was it kidney, and that woman developed the same tastes that the original owner did, not just that, she KNEW the original Owner's name and stuff he did, no one had told her this, for this is confidential, amazing stuff, got thread though.

hehe cheers bro...

But it is bizarre don't you think? I mean to think that you could recieve a liver transplant and their memories or tastes? What would you do man? Its not like you could remove an organ...

What if it was a horrid persons organ? I guess beggers can't be choosers? crying.gif
Tanithellen
You know, I'd feel sorry for anyone who got my organs started having my tastes. Not many people like the idea of baked bean and fruit chutney sandwiches. lol

The movie's name was Blink. It came out in 1994 and starred Madelyn Stowe and Aidan Quinn.

I don't think it would be too difficult to believe, I mean, if you condition your body over the years to what you like, what you eat etc, I could see it being a very plausible phenomena. Have you ever noticed that if you go a few days without eating say green vegetables or whatever you suddenly start craving them? Your body is telling you that you need vitamins, minerals or whatever. Maybe that could also transfer over??

Just a thought tongue.gif
Chase
Exactly Gigan... Why are these things so difficult to concede as possible when there's a universe around us we can't explain... yes.gif
Gigan
Precisely. Thats why I still think that things that we classify as 'unexplained' are really common, normal occurances. We just have'nt figured it out yet. They could be so ridiculously simple in fact that we are staring the answers in the face every day and not know it! laugh.gif

Yet another good point mr Gigan! thumbsup.gif

Like you say, just because we can't understand something, doesn't mean it can't exist. I hate that really underhand ignorance about everything where people just choose to dismiss stuff...

HELLO!?!?! Look at the world around you rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
Zeus
I liked your other point a while back, what if someone did get an organ or a part of the body from a recently executed serial killer? ever seen that episode of the simpsons when homer got the thief's (forgot his name, he's always smoking and keeps a lighter in his shoulder underneath his shirt) hair and then homer killed apu, bart and moe. rolleyes.gif
Chase
Good point Glam! I guess we'd have to hope that the better part of us would make the better judgement... although the chance of you getting a serial killers organs is low... unless your getting organs in china of course wink.gif
chrisfer
Well, they are giving a person a part of someone and the recipient is keeping that part alive. Maybe some aspects of our personality or our "being" originates from other than our brain. Hmmmmmmm, now I'm worried if I die and I get something donated, will my spirit be stuck here until the donated part and the recipient dies??? sad.gif
Chase
Well hopefully not chrisfer... I cant help thinking that its some form of physio-biology occuring at a celluar level. Almost like inheriting traits or feelings... I think people are more likely to inherit perhaps an aspect of your personality rather then you as a being? unsure.gif
Tiffeny
I saw the same thing on TV Tanithellen! I thought it was kind of cool!
Zeus
well what if when we get someone else's organ, their DNA strikes OUR dna and makes it change a bit? therefore changing a bit, habbits, routines , tastes, etc? perhaps even changes our RNA.

I have another idea especially since the lady dreamed of the man and as is written met him in her dreams.
I believe the man is visiting her and introducing himself, and I believe he may be the one putting his food preferences into her mind and this could mean he is hanging around her.

If he is friendly then I think this is alright he may want her to channel for him but on the other hand since one Psychic Wrote about Walk-In's he could be hanging around wanting to borrow a body and if that is the case some of these people who get organ donations especially if the deceased wasn't ready to give up his organs and hasn't accepted his death could hang around and cause problems and a Priest might be needed to help the person send the spirit on his way.

I know this may be an unpleasant subject but I have often thought about how the Spirit felt about someone hanging around the hospital to harvest his organs when he didn't want to be rushed on his way.

I don't like to write like this but I feel people need to know the real truth about the Spirit World because when I first began to learn about the Spirit World I had no idea what it was really about, because I was always told when people die they zip right up to Heaven and or Hell and are far away from us here on Earth but I know now that isn't true that Spirits in the After Life have free will and can go anywahere they choose to and can do anything they want.

I must say thought that I have only met a few disagreeable Spirits and the rest of the Spirits I have met have been nice and wanted only to channel their Story back to Earth through Psychic Channels like me and others.

pretty good point rosemary, perhaps these new tastes people get when they get new organs from a person, is just that person's spirit walking around them, making'em like it, but, isnt that some sort of mind control? isnt that kind of "evil" ? hmm.gif

Saw a movie where a guy got eye transplants, used to be a baseball player. Well, the eyes where from a killer of women. He became a killer of women.

It is about Mind Control and may be classified as Evil by some, but many people who donate organs are killed either from accidents or murder and while they have no chance to live in many cases, there are times when hospitals put pressure on grieving relatives to take people off life support and if the Spirit Wasn't ready to give up the body and feels he or she might have survived if left alone to heal they might resent someone having their organs and if that happens they can follow their organs and try to take over the persons body and live through them and if that happens this is what is called a possession and that is when the services of a Deliverance Minister or Priest is called in to help convince the Spirit it needs to accept its death and go in peace.

As we know there are many new age Therapists and Psychiatrists who deal with people who are thought to have multiple personalities but in fact are possessed by the spirits of the dead trying to take over their bodies and when that happens the Therapist sometimes uses Hypnosis to traet both the human and the troubled Spirit to help it adjust to its death and let go of the Human.

But that doesn't always work does it Rose?

You are right it doesn't always work and that is why I wrote what I did above, because when spirits have grudges against humans and they do these things to us no one much believes and thats why I believe its important to write the things I believe about these memories from the donors.
What I am writing is not to frighten my purpose for writing this is about scientific minds writing about how the recepient is having memories of the deceased donor and I want to say why I believe this is happening.
Guilty_By_Ignorance
I.M.O I think that's about as plausible as aliens having the ability to come here whenever they want, yet only a 2 ppl end up seeing them. I would have to think that people could not attain abilities from donated organs because I think it's more of a brain/spiritual make-up. I really don't believe in psychics-no offense, but to think a special ability can come from something donated...seems almost ludicrous. Again that's just I.M.O
SUPERKICK

Thats what I think, there cannot be a biological explanation for it, because memories and thoughts are originated in the brain not the organs.

But if this sort of stuff really happens, then it has other (paranormal) reasons for it, not scientific as some others have said.

wow thats kinda cool
Ilikeleopards
Actually several studies have found that there is memory stored in our cells.....apparently...memories can be stored in cells of our bodies to act as things that can help us remember, while the brain acts as the main area of memory storage....so it is plausible that people experience things from their donors because of this cellular memory

I think this almost borders the philosophies of Physica lism/Materialism. Basically, memories, experiences, etc, are stored in a physical form within yourself. Where the mind, its thoughts, all your experiences, are purely physical and have no "spiritual" or other form. Compared to Dualism, where your thoughts, memories, experiences etc are outside of your physical body, going beyond your rotting flesh. Dualism is more spiritual.
