Has anyone ever tried this game ? I came across it on the internet
Visit My Website reading about the Mackenzie ghost in Edinburgh Scotland. It explains a possibility of how some visitors to the graveyard in Edinburgh end up scratched and bruised. I'm going to try this out on my boyfriend tonight and see what happens
Quote:
Some of the effects- the scratches- could be related to the "Hand Of The Devil" game. The way this game works is: One person tells another person a story which goes something like this: You are getting ready to go for a night out. You're putting on your best clothes, and doing your hair, and then the doorbell rings. You open the door and all your friends have arrived in a taxi. You get into the taxi and you all go into town and go into a bar...
It carries on in this vein, and the person listening to the story has to picture it all very clearly. Then, as the story goes, : you meet a stranger in the bar who offers to buy you a drink. You turn around to talk to them and as you do you you feel three... long... scratches... on your back. And this was the hand of the DEVIL! At this point, the storyteller runs their hand *very lightly* down the person's back.
The person should, if they have been imagining it well enough, have three long scratches on their back.

i vaguley remember something similar we used to do at school, it is interesting how these things happen and they can be very odd, i am always waking with strange scratchmarks on me in places i couldnt have done, and as i sleep alone it cant be anyone else. very odd, good story though.

Lol... my boyfriend is a very down to earth person. No scratches. The power of suggestion didn't effect him..

I had never heard of this, sounds creepy. I don't want no scratches down my back, wether it be from the Devil or not. :S

If you stand in front of a mirror (must be dark) with a candle, say bloody mary 3 times, close your eyes and spin three times, Bloody Mary will show up and scratch your eyes out or your face off depending on which legend you hear. Sounds like a fun time. Go ahead and try it and let me know how it goes.
