is satan and lucifer the same thing just ,different name or are they actually different things? im so confused.

As far as I know they one and the same, lucifer is latin and Satan is a Hebrew word.

Many different religions and different countries have different names for the Devil.

I prefer the name Lucifer. But yeah Lucifer/Satan/Diablo .... like God has 1000 different names so does the dark lord.

Although most do relate the two as one and the same
"Lucifer" as friend fordo said is latin meaning "light bearer" and was the God of light while in heaven.
He was the Lords "right hand man" so to speak, he was said to be the most beautiful angel..and second Only to god in power.

He also produced magnificent shows for the amusement of the lord and his angels.
Lucifer and the angels under his command were the ones who also produced music for god,
<which may be why some believe that certain music is the Devils music..lol>

I believe it wasnt until after Lucifer was cast from heaven that he became known as Satan or the Devil.
And even for those of us who may not believe in god recognize "the Devil/Satan" as representing evil.

Fordo's right on that one, and if I am not wrong, it was after the apparision of the Illuminati that the Vatican decided to call the Opposer of the Church "Satan" which in some languages would stand for Assassin, if I am wrong let me know. =)

Lucifer was one of three Archangels along with Michael and Gabriel. The Bible says that he was next to God in power. He was perfect in all his ways until he became prideful and decided to rebel in order to dethrone God Himself. Fully 1/3 of the angels went with him. God cast him out of Heaven and he wars with God to this day, although his downfall is already sealed. When he was cast out of heaven he became Satan, which as the others said, means "adversary" or "slanderer-accuser". He accuses the lost in heaven as well as the saved and tries to deceive mankind. Thus, Lucifer and Satan are the same person, commonly called the Devil. His angels are commonly thought to be demons-this is the mainstream Christian school of thought-although others simply call them fallen angels and think that other beings in concert with them and their leader Satan, are the demons.

He does not and will not "reign" in hell. His abode is the nearer heavens (nearer to earth than the 7th Heaven which is God's) and someday he will be completely defeated and cast into the Lake of Fire, with all sinners. Unlike mankind, there is no provision for salvation of fallen angels, that we know of.

When God created the first angel, Lucifer - which means "lightbearer", became arrogant and actually tried to take God's throne. God cast him out of Heaven, to earth where he reigns as Satan. The Bible says he is the King of Lies and prince of the power of the air, the principality of darkness. Satan is very much real and I believe he's behind hauntings, poltergeists. I believe he enjoys instilling fear and anxiety in humans and will do just about anything to pull people away from their beliefs, or prevent them from believing in the first place. That's my entitled opinion.

i dont fear the ghosts , spirits and paranormal, i am wary of it as we dont understand it fully but it is not all evil, my Gran was a god fearing person but was a very good spiritualist who did alot of good in her life, it is still a church we go to and we still worship god, again i respect your beliefs , but after all the bible was written by man and we are known for getting our stories mixed up and exagerating things. i dont discard the bible but i personally think it contradicts itself alot.

You are right your grandmother is a good spirit in the Spirit World and there are many good Spirits up there but having said that, there are also many peoples relatives like my three and Dr. Petas who do mean things to some of us on Earth simply because they choose to and i personally believe they are not necessarily motivated by a satan they are just mean, jealous contacerous spirits much like they were when they walked the Earth.

Some peoples friends, associates and relatives choose to do better in the spirit world and are happy to be nice and appear to people not only in person and in dreams but also on Oujia Boards but sometimes you have relatives and others in the Spirit World who decide not to be nice and that is what I am dealing with.

I think we need to sort out the truths about Life After Death and that is what I am trying to do by telling my own personal experiences and I am doing this to teach others what I know so they don't have some of the same problems I have had.

Now for example when Carrie was here on Earth everyone thought she was a Bible Carrying Saint and she did good for others, worked her fingers to the bone, and gave most of what she had to others, and she said when she got to the Spirit World it was not as she had hoped it would be and this is why she is now acting as an Evil Possesing Spirit trying to force the Guides who says he is gopd to prove he can do as he said when he wrote and told the World if she doesn't get out of this body and do better she will be destroyed as an Evil Spirit.

Now he says he can't destroy her inside my body because it could be too dangerous for me and so now Carrie is taking the attitude if he wants her out he is going toh ave to prove he can take her out and if not she and her three friends will sit right there in my body and attack me until he either proves he can destroy her as he said or until they kill me whichever comes first.

Now the things Carrie, Eve, and George are challenging is the Religious beliefs they had when they walked the Earth.

Of course if she was really out to prove anything except her bitterness she would not hesitate to come out and stand up to the Guide who claims to have the power to destroy her and demand that he prove it and she has to want to know badly enough to be willing to die for it and that will be about research and teaching others what I have learned about the Spirit world.

Others can worship anything they so choose but I am looking for the truth other than what I have been taught since birth, because I believe the truth I am searching for, and now trying to prove is the Ultimate Truth of the Universe.

It is defenitely satan who controls the spirits in you, the devil is the only beign that can make things evil. Satan is the worst and the leader of the so called "fallen angels" ( angels who turned against God)

What in the world possessed you to have that idea....wait, wait....let me take four guesses.

Well as I said before I have three of my relatives and Dr. P. sitting inside my body as declared satan's Followers and I have Guides higher up who are writing along with us here trying to help me control what is written and I am just sitting here writing through automatic writing and so when I sit down here almost anything can be written and I just let it go because no matter what it says its being written by a spirit either in my body or around me in the universe.
Behind the scenes we are doing battle and its becoming a knock down drag out fight as I try a self-exorcism mailed to me by an exorcist on the internet and so God only knows what could happen in this situation.
This afternoon it took me about three hours to make out a four checks and this is the way it goes and right now I am getting about two hours sleep each night and I am looking more dead than alive but I am keeping my head up and doing battle and sprinkling a little holy water around and chanting a few hail marys and i know soon god is going to save me.

personally, i did find the literary representation of Satan
in John Miltons "paradise lost" (in fact any of miltons epic poems, seems the guy had a thing for the devil lol)
to be a rather heroic anti establishment hero..
and with a nice turn of phrase i might add..
i'm guessing this type of writting and depiction went along way to
formulating the modern image of Satan/lucifer...
the story of Lucifer/Satan is not actually in any Bible that I'm aware of(the war in heaven bit)
but then again, there are many versions of that book..mostly incomplete...
