Photographer Encounters the Supernatural
by Joel Horowitz in Entertainment, Arts & Culture, Creative Class, Science

Acclaimed editorial and commercial photographer, Matt Hoyle, is showing a series of essay-driven photographs entitled “Encounters” about ufo’s, ghosts and the supernatural in America on his website. To be published as a book soon, his beautiful photographs showcase the “accounts of people’s ‘other-worldly’ personal experiences”,

I went on expeditions to the hunting grounds of werewolves, swamp beasts, Mothmen and other creatures…I photographed each person at the scene of their encounter and tried to recreate the mood at which the encounter happened so that you could feel a little closer to their experience.

Check out Hoyle’s “Encounters” here.

And be glad you weren’t with him on location. (We sure are!)

I highly reccomend going to the Encounters site and checking out the gallery. It's not pictures of ghosts and such, so don't go there expecting to see that or you'll be dissapointed. What it does have is really amazing pictures of people who have had experiences, with a small story accompanying each one. It's a little slow for those of you with dial up connections, but it's worth a look.

That gallery was very intresting. I loved the story about the theatre ghost (go figure)

i liked the pictures...the guy is a photographer, isn't he?
i really enjoy watching such professional sites...but of course the page loads, and loads...ad infinitum, haha

the book might be interesting, according to what's been shown already,
(only the stories should be longer),
but it smells...too commercial to me

I hope an online version of this comes out, I sure have been waiting for it.
