The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Paoli, Ind., man Wednesday afternoon on felony charges of battery and confinement after he performed an “exorcism” on a 14-year-old autistic boy over the course of 11 hours, police said.
Sheriff’s Department Det. Brad Swain said Edward F. Uyesugi, 22, turned himself into police at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday.
Witnesses told police Uyesugi had said he punched the boy in the face 20 times and stuck his fingers down the boy’s throat in an attempt to “cast out the demons” in him, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Uyesugi was a pastor-in-training at Cherry Hill Ministries, 417 E. 16th St., the affidavit said.
According to a press release Cherry Hill Ministries issued Wednesday, the church denounced Uyesugi for his behavior and the harm it caused to the boy.
“We emphatically denounce the method, manner and mentality of this unauthorized and unsupervised exorcism attempted by this young man,” Pastor Kim Norris said in the press release.
Uyesugi was asked to resign his membership in the church.
According to court documents filed July 20, Uyesugi told the boy’s mother that he could cure her son’s autism by “casting the demons out of him.”
The boy’s mother said Uyesugi was adamant that the boy be brought home from the group home in which he was living so Uyesugi could preform the ritual. The mother told police she was under the impression Cherry Hill Church Ministries knew about the “exorcism” and gave consent to it, according to the affidavit.
The mother said that when she brought her son home May 28, Uyesugi became loud and boisterous, causing the teenager to attempt to flee the room. Uyesugi grabbed the boy and pinned him to the floor, where he struck him. saying, “Come out, you filthy demon!” according to the affidavit. The mother told police she witnessed Uyesugi punch her son several times.
Later, the boy was restrained on the bed for several hours while Uyesugi punched him repeatedly,
according to the document. Uyesugi directed the boy’s 15-year-old brother to assist with the exorcism. The boy’s two sisters told police they witnessed Uyesugi stick his fingers into their brother’s mouth, causing him to vomit, the document shows. The action was repeated numerous times. At one point, blood was present in the vomit, and when the mother pointed it out, Uyesugi denied it was blood and called it “Satan,” according to the affidavit.
After the first session, which ran from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Uyesugi announced that boy’s name would be changed to “Israel.” When the boy resisted the name change several times, Uyesugi announced the demons were still there and began the ritual again, according to the affidavit. The boy tried to flee but was stopped by his older brother, who did not understand what was going on.
Uyesugi wrapped his arms around the boy and pulled him up the stairs. When he broke free and ran into his mother’s room, which he considers a “safe place,” Uyesugi pursued the boy and the “exorcism” continued until midnight, according to the affidavit. The boy’s mother said she told Uyesugi that she was going to call the church about the ritual but was told by Uyesugi to stay where she was.
The following morning, the boy’s face was swollen, and he had black eyes and bruises across his face. The boy’s mother called Pastor Kim Norris to complain about the ritual Uyesugi performed on her child. She drove her son to the church to show Norris the injuries, according to the affidavit.
Swain spoke to Uyesugi and his attorney June 27. Uyesugi told Swain that he has known the boy’s mother for some time and expressed concern about her son’s autism. She told Uyesugi another pastor she knew had informed her that her son had a demon in him, Uyesugi said. He said the mother had told him to pray over her son. When he began praying, the boy became upset and violent. Uyesugi restrained the boy and admitted to striking him once or twice. Uyesugi said the boy gagged, but it was not because of an attempt to cast out demons, according to the affidavit.
The mother denied she suggested her son’s condition might be due to demons, according to the document.
Uyesugi said he had never seen a child act as violently as the boy did, but he did not originally bring up the issue of demonic possession, according to the affidavit.
Swain interviewed Norris on July 3 and learned that Uyesugi told Norris he had struck the boy in the face 20 times after he became aggressive. Uyesugi also told Norris that he put his fingers into the boy’s mouth to “pull out the spirit,” according to the affidavit. Norris described the events as bizarre and ridiculous and told Swain they had no basis in the teachings of the church.
Swain said he would like to talk to Uyesugi again and ask Uyesugi why his version of the events are so different from the one reported by the boy’s mother and Norris.
Uyesugi is being held at the Monroe County Jail with a $5,000 bail. No court date has been set.

The problem is Ignorant Brainwashed Ministers and sometimes Priests which leads to this boys plight and also the plight of the girl annalysse who died after the Priest doing the Exorcism and her parents starved her to death in an effort to free her from Demonic Control.
The problems are also brought about by the teachings of the churches and the Bible who teach people from birth to believe in things written in the Bible which are no more provable to be true than any other book written.
The Bible teaches us about Demons and Angels but neglects to tell us both are the Spirits of the Dead who have lived on Earth and whether they are looked on as Demons or Angels depends on how they choose to behave in the Spirit World.
Every Sunday and at other times churches of both denominations has preachers ranting over the bible and what it says about demons and angels and a magical heaven where we all go on Death but the truth I see after many years of channelling for spirit is that we die and our Spirit with all its intelligence and our memories good and bad goes to the After Life where it lives in either a nice Personality or a mean vengeful personality and as far as I can tell from my own experience is there is no one in the Spirit World who really has control of Spirits who behave anyway they choose to and I base that on my own experience of Spirit Communication and the good and bad things they have told me and did to me.
You might ask well what does this have to do with what the Preacher did to the ill boy and I will say nothing except that he is one of the ignorant preachers I am talking about who has been brainwashed and taught by his parents and preachers or priests as he was growing up and now in the name of God he is inflicting his beliefs on others.
The mother in this case was equally as ignornant and should have had the common sense when she saw what was happening and the preacher wouldn't listen to her or stop what he was doing she should have gone to the phone and called 911 and had the police come and haul that foolish preacher away who could have killed the boy by what he was doing.
Now as I write about this Exorcism and talk about what causes these situations I would also like to write about the thread I started which asks?
Do you Believe in Spirit Possessions?
From the response I have gotten I would say few people do believe in the terrible things I write which has happened to me at the hands of three of my Dead Realtives and Dr. P who have brutalized me for years while I expect a God or Jesus in the Spirit World to save me because we are taught they are all Powerful.
Well so far they haven't proven this and I believe that God and Jesus are good spirits in the Afterlife with lots of good knowledge but can they actually force a Demonic Spirit to cease and Desist when they choose to behave against humans like my Three Realtives and Dr. P. have been doing to me since l986?
Most people who have read my story tell me things like tell them to go away, and or burn sage and take control of the sitaution and pray to God and Jesus and they will save you but from my experience that just isn't what happens.
Most people who have read my story have said I am either looking for attention, or looking to make a movie like the Exorcist, and or some say I need a Psychiatrist and medicine and etc etc. etc.
Well I blame some of these attitudes on lack of knowledge on this subject and religious brainwashing by many denominations as you have grown up and now because of these things no one is open to the real truth of the Universe.
I don't like writing these things but as you can see God was watching what the Preacher did to this boy and could not stop him, and God has been watching what my four Possessing Tormentors have been doing to me since l986 as they sat inside my body inflicting the most excruciating pain on me day and night because they were jealous of the kinds of Psychic Knowledge I have been receiving from somewhere in the Universe called the Akaskic Records which can look into the past and the future and while this source has great knowledge about many things it seems incapable of solving the problem of the four Possessing Spirits.
He told me many times he has the power to destroy Evil Spirits at some point in time and he also told me he is the Guide who wrote through Paranormal Writer Ruth Montgomery where she says when Spirits Become so Evil they cannot be destroyed God steps in and Destroys Them.
The Guide who appeared to me as God told me and the Possessing Spirits if they are in there when I die he will destroy them when they leave the body, and I say that is not good enough because if I am dead there will be no one here to tell the World the Truth and I say if he has the Power over these four that we are taught in church by the Prechers and Priests and as its written in the Bible then he needs to step up now and prove he has power over these four Possessing Spirits and end this situation and make no more excuses.
And those who don't believe what I am writing because you have not had this experience or because you have brainwashed from birth about the Biblke and all sorts of things then hopefully these things never happen to you because if they do you will realize when people like me look for Exorcists we might meet up with a fool like the one in the above story or the Priest who helped to kill the Girl Analesse when he tried to starve the demons out of her.
But no matter what I say here or what anyone believes about Heaven or Hell there is one thing for sure, the Human Spirit no matter what it believes or what it doesn't believe lives on beyond Earth.
Everlasting Life is a true reality, but where it all began and who created us and how he created us is still a mystery to me as it is to everyone who will admit it but there is one thing I know for sure we were created and there is a Creator somewhere in the Universe.
Sorry to go on so long but ignorant people who claim to be doing God's Work like the Ignorant Preacher above just sends me off on one of these Writing Sessions as I try to stamp out Religious Ignorance on many Fronts.
Note: I would suggest that you look around you at the things that goes on which has no explanation and no one can stop and ask yourself do you really believe these things are God's Will.
Children are raped and abused and killed.
Sometimes Nuns die while clutching the Bible and Praying.
Soldiers fight and die and believe in God and our Country and everyone needs to see that the War in Iraq was not brought about by God but by a President who was so Angry about 9/11 that he set up the war against terror and instead of going after Bin Laden and only Bin Lauden who Masterminded the Attacks on the Trade Center he used that incident to help him bring about the War so that he could topple and have put to death Saadam Hussein.
Sure Saadam Hussein was an Evil tirant but the U.S. Knew that back in the eighties when we used him and his country to help us in our war against Iran.
Back then Saaddam was our old buddy and we gave him and his country many favors as we tried to topple Iran and after that we got mad at our old buddy Saadam and toppled his country and threw the common people until such cahos that they don't have running water or enough food and their children are getting killed each day.
Surely there could have been a better way to take down one man.
Do I believe God is watching over this situation?
Sure I do but do I believe God approves of what we are doing in Iraq to the common ordinary people?
No but now that we are in we can't leave because if we do things will become worse and people will turn on each other like they did in Bosnia and other countries and there will be rampant Ethnic Cleansings as they try to wipe each other out.
And if you look at the crop of candidates that could become our next president In my opinion things can only become worse.
dang it! whoever tried to exorcise the boy must be freaking insane and put in an asylum! put his fingers down the boy's throats to exorcise the demon?! wtf? poor kid!

Again...why is the mother not held accountable for her actions. She stood by and ALLOWED her autisitc child to be beaten, abused, tied to a bed and her other children to participate in the abuse!

I think this story tells us alot more about sadism , rather than possesion.(and i've oft considered that "God" is the ultimate sadist)

You are starting to not make any sense so I can understand if you say you are drinking.
When you sober up keep in mind that Mediumship does not require medication it requires others to learn that these things are true.

The Word medication need not be mentioned at all in discussions on a Forum like this where people are invited to tell their experiences.
Its alright if you don't believe and you can say so but the word medication or suggesting Psyciatrists and the like is not necessary we are just here discussing our views on the Paranormal and what our own personal experiences have been.
Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot and maybe on several occassions I have gotten testy and I guess I must learn to have more patience with others but sometimes that is not easy to do in my situation here.

This one made me laugh. I mean, OMG as if you would just sit there and watch a random stranger repeatedly punch your son in the face ... but, in saying that, some people do/watch weird things ...
When people first come in contact with a Spirit who appears as a Demon you have no idea just how terrifying this can be until you are faced with this first hand.
These Spirits can get into your thoughts and even hover around and enter the human body and hiss and threaten and disguise themselves and terrify one.
They can appear at your bedside and stab you and although they don't really have a knife when they appear as Giant figures and show you a Knife and plunge it into your body and somehow they have the power to make you feel the thrust of the knife.
They can then turn themselves into little lighted things that zip across the ceiling and awaken you to performing sexual acts which is as real as if a stalker caught you in an Alley.
They can tell you things like what they will do to you if you don't follow their every wish and they can terrify to the point that you will go running to a Doctor just to have him help you find an Exorcist and then you will find that Doctors don't believe these things anymore than anyone else does and they will order medication and tell you what they can have done to you if you don't stop telling people these things and do what they want.
I had this happen to me when I sought a Doctor to ask him if he would help me find an Exorcist and he told me that if I didn't stop trying to convince him this is true he could call the sheriff have me handcuffed and put into a state hospital and I told him if he did that he would be interfering with my religious beliefs and I would get a lawyer and sue him for every penny he had.
so you see freedom of Speech and Freedom of choice as far as beliefs and religion go worked for me then but it didn't solve my problem and that is why I am on websites like this telling my story, because you never know when this could happen to you and if it does no one much will believe.
In my case my four tormenters were three of my relatives and dr. P. who was a Psychaitrist down here and whether they are experimenting to see if I can convince others of these things or whether they just hate me and want to seek vengance I am not sure at this time, but I know I am in search of the truth and I will have that when I get them out of my body and see if there is a Guide who can punish them for their actions as I have been told.

OI ! Anyway...back on topic...This is rediculous! This idiot tried to perform an exorcism on an autistic child and then beats the hell out of him. THEN tries to justify it by saying the demon was making the child autistic. Hmmmm *scratches head*
It's crap like this that turns so many people off from religion. That really was a pathetic excuse.
I happen to know a guy thats autistic and while there are various degrees of autism this guy in particular functions much the same as anyone else. This guy plays guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and holds down a full time job. He does come off as steange at times and thats just the autism showing but strangely enuff its actually cool.
The audacity of this guy to perform an exorcism on a 14 year old child that had already been diagnosed with autism and the way he tries to justify his actions just amazes me.

I don't believe the kid was possessed at all.
I do believe the person had read things that caused him to believe that aflictions can be cured by driving demons out.
I also believe people like him are suffering from Religious brainwashing and this is one of the things that causes them to behave this way.
However I do know there are true possession such as my case and I personally can't get anyone to believe me but I also am afraid to deal with pirests of anyone to do exorcisms because of cases like this.
Also the case of Annalysee was a case of a Priest thinking he could fast spirits out of her body and as a result she starved to death.
But make nomistake about it there are Possessions and at this time I still have four mean spiteful spirits sitting inside my body but no one much believes and theya re getting more vicious each and everyday and they may be inside my body until the day I die for all I know.
About all I can do is tell my story and hope that others know when you dabble in the Paranormal once in a while you may meet up with some mean spiteful relatives like I did who are jealous of the Psychic Gift and all the things I could do and they set out to try to see if they could render my brain incapable of receiving Psychic Information which they have just about accomplished because of my brain becoming so exhausted from their brutal attacks day and night.
If God can stop it as I have been told I have yet to see this happening.
I know there is a Creator but personally I believe we are on our own once we are on Earth and we can pray all we want and no one can take Evil Spirits out of a Human body unless they choose to leave, but if I find out that this evening God or Jesus zips down from Heaven and sets me free I'll be sure to write about it

No one much believes in possessions although they are commonplace in my opinion and most people just don't believe in them, but I personally believe that much of the evils of the World are as the bible says caused by Evil Spirits who get into the minds of humans and try to control them.
Sometimes angry spirits enter the bodies of humans and at that time its called a possession but when someone has a problem with possessions its very difficult tog et the help of a priest and its very difficult to find a Psychiatrist who knows that these things can happen and so the person with a possession problem is desperate enough to try any means they can to try to get help with their problem and sometimes they depend on ignorant people who are willing to help but who have no concept of how to handle the problem and thats when these exorcisms go bad.
Some of the problems I have been having with trying to tell people about my own possession problem, is they are nonbelievers and they don't much believe in life after death much less the reality that Spirits of the Dead can think and have all the intelligence they had when they walked the earth but now they don't have a human body and sometimes they resort to things that are not always nice in order to get someones attention and cause them to believe they are alive.
Now in my opinion it is much more likely that in the future even more people will be having a possession problem because of a book that was written by Spiritual Writer Ruth Montgomery with her Guides Thomas and Lily in which they allegedly told her that Walk-In's can take over human bodies and walk the Earth.
In the book of course the Writers tried to make it clear that just any spirit cannot walk into a human body on their own, but that a Higher power is the one who puts a Walk-In Spirit into a human body the orginal spirit can no longer carry on in that body.
Allegedly God who is also the Keeper of the Akaskic Records and who knows everything that is going on on Earth sees someone on Earth in Crisis like when they are thinking about Suicide or in an Accident or some other traumatic experience where the Spirit gets out of the body like in a NDE and it refuses to get back into the body and at that point in time as the book states a Higher Power sees the body in Crisis and realizes the original spirit no longer wants that body so he sends in a substitute that is called a Walk-in.
I am having my possession problem because in the late eighties the Guides appeared and told me I am a Walk-In and that the Spirit of Mary the Mother of Jesus Walked into this body and after that the relatives of the original owner of the body along with Dr. Ptas a Psychiatrist from the Toledo, Ohio Area all decided to enter this body and try to force the Spirit of Mary out so they could walk the Earth as Mary the Mother of Jesus.
As you can imagine I am having a problem with the world believing that I have 4 spirits sitting inside my body trying to force my Spirit out so they can have the Body, and I am having a tougher time trying to tell the World that jesus appeared to me back in l986 and told me I am Mary his Mother from the Holy Land Lifetime.
No one much believes anything I am writing and of course I can understand that because this is one Hell of a Story but its all true and there is nothing I can do to get these four to leave the body and as you can see they have been unsucessful in forcing the spirit out of this body but they won't give up and come out because a man who appeared as God has told them if they are inside this body when it dies they are going to be put to death when they come out and now they are too frightened to leave the body and too vicious and mean and stubborn to give up the body and come out.
And so things are becoming worse by the minute and when I tell my story here or anywhere for that matter no one believes it and so I must suffer alone and so hopefully this sort of thing never happens to the non-believers of my story because as you can see I cannot go to a Man like the Exorcist above because ignornt people might kill me if they could get their hands on me.

One more post that proves how clueless you really are about the Paranormal which you comment on and have no ideas about, and are out only to discredit someone who is more knowledgeable than you are.

Several years ago I searched our Local Records and found his Obituary.
The other day I searched again and didn't find it but I know it has to be somewhere.
Its been more than 20 years now so it now be in some sort of archives which I didn't want to do at the time.
I will assume he is buried in one of the Cemeteries in Sylvania, Ohio but I have not had time to look there because I am too busy trying to deal with him in Spirit.
I have an obituary here dated October 13, 2005 and that is the son of Dr. Petas who died even younger than his father did from what I believe to be a Heart Attack.
One of the reasons Dr. Petas is so angry at me is I predicted the death of his son and asked him to get out of my body and go help him but he refused and after that he wouldn't even get out to go to the Funeral and now he won't even get out of my body to join his son and also his wife who passed away a few years back while Dr. Petas was busy doing these things to me and he didn't even know his wife had passed until he read about it in the Newspaper when his son passed over.
Now Dr. Petas is mean and vicious and blames me for not telling them they were in danger of dieing but I couldn't do that because back when this began I asked his family to help me talk him out of my body and they said if I came near them or told them this again I would have legal Repercussions so as You can see I have had to deal with this without any help from his family and I believe that is when they were here they didn't believe this could happen so I harbor no ill feelings towards anyone who doesn't believe but I do believe they should be trying to talk Dr. Petas out from their vantage point in the Spirit World unless of course they are so disgusted with him they have walked away from him?

i totally agree with you , i wish people would combine medical opinions with spiritual ones we would all be much better off instead of saying one way or another, it dosnt hurt to double check everything. and if a doctor dosnt explain it then deal with it spiritually, but in this case there was neglect for the child. Rosemary began by stating to us how this had been her doctor until it was brought up that this doctor specialized in treating schizophrena. Well Dr. P. is sitting right here reading what you are writing, and he is not getting any better because he is not pleased that none of you will believe he is alive.
Now for all you know I could have tripped over Dr. P. in a grocery store, none of that has anything to do with why he is sitting inside my body day and night trying to keep Thomas (JFK) away from me.
JFK first appeared to be as Thomas and he and I got along very well and Dr. P. who as we all know too a Special interest in me all the way back to the mid Seventies and he was not going to let Thomas the handsome Guide who at that time was appearing as a dashing blonde headed man.
Later he appeared as JFK and said he had first appeared to me as Thomas not knowing how I would react to JFK and he needed to do that because we were going to work on a book about his Assassination and at that point in time I asked Dr. P to go away so we coudl work on the book and he and my three relatives said that I thought they were not good enough now that Royalty had appeared so they have gun around to make sure no one ever believed the Kennedy book and as you can see they have done a good job of that.
I never once said Dr. treated anything all I knew is he was a medical Doctor who was also a Psychiatrist and that has nothing to do with this.
Maybe someone on here would like to channel for Dr. P. and my three relatives and I don't think they would treat anyone else like this they are just not happy with me personally.
If someone would like to invite him over and agree to work with him I think he would be alright he is just afraid if I send him away he will never find anyone to let him write on websites like this one.

According to a press release Cherry Hill Ministries issued Wednesday, the church denounced Uyesugi for his behavior and the harm it caused to the boy.
“We emphatically denounce the method, manner and mentality of this unauthorized and unsupervised exorcism attempted by this young man,” Pastor Kim Norris said in the press release.
Uyesugi was asked to resign his membership in the church.
According to court documents filed July 20, Uyesugi told the boy’s mother that he could cure her son’s autism by “casting the demons out of him.”
The boy’s mother said Uyesugi was adamant that the boy be brought home from the group home in which he was living so Uyesugi could preform the ritual. The mother told police she was under the impression Cherry Hill Church Ministries knew about the “exorcism” and gave consent to it, according to the affidavit.
The mother said that when she brought her son home May 28, Uyesugi became loud and boisterous, causing the teenager to attempt to flee the room. Uyesugi grabbed the boy and pinned him to the floor, where he struck him. saying, “Come out, you filthy demon!” according to the affidavit. The mother told police she witnessed Uyesugi punch her son several times.
Later, the boy was restrained on the bed for several hours while Uyesugi punched him repeatedly,
according to the document. Uyesugi directed the boy’s 15-year-old brother to assist with the exorcism. The boy’s two sisters told police they witnessed Uyesugi stick his fingers into their brother’s mouth, causing him to vomit, the document shows. The action was repeated numerous times. At one point, blood was present in the vomit, and when the mother pointed it out, Uyesugi denied it was blood and called it “Satan,” according to the affidavit.
After the first session, which ran from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Uyesugi announced that boy’s name would be changed to “Israel.” When the boy resisted the name change several times, Uyesugi announced the demons were still there and began the ritual again, according to the affidavit. The boy tried to flee but was stopped by his older brother, who did not understand what was going on.
Uyesugi wrapped his arms around the boy and pulled him up the stairs. When he broke free and ran into his mother’s room, which he considers a “safe place,” Uyesugi pursued the boy and the “exorcism” continued until midnight, according to the affidavit. The boy’s mother said she told Uyesugi that she was going to call the church about the ritual but was told by Uyesugi to stay where she was.
The following morning, the boy’s face was swollen, and he had black eyes and bruises across his face. The boy’s mother called Pastor Kim Norris to complain about the ritual Uyesugi performed on her child. She drove her son to the church to show Norris the injuries, according to the affidavit.
Swain spoke to Uyesugi and his attorney June 27. Uyesugi told Swain that he has known the boy’s mother for some time and expressed concern about her son’s autism. She told Uyesugi another pastor she knew had informed her that her son had a demon in him, Uyesugi said. He said the mother had told him to pray over her son. When he began praying, the boy became upset and violent. Uyesugi restrained the boy and admitted to striking him once or twice. Uyesugi said the boy gagged, but it was not because of an attempt to cast out demons, according to the affidavit.
The mother denied she suggested her son’s condition might be due to demons, according to the document.
Uyesugi said he had never seen a child act as violently as the boy did, but he did not originally bring up the issue of demonic possession, according to the affidavit.
Swain interviewed Norris on July 3 and learned that Uyesugi told Norris he had struck the boy in the face 20 times after he became aggressive. Uyesugi also told Norris that he put his fingers into the boy’s mouth to “pull out the spirit,” according to the affidavit. Norris described the events as bizarre and ridiculous and told Swain they had no basis in the teachings of the church.
Swain said he would like to talk to Uyesugi again and ask Uyesugi why his version of the events are so different from the one reported by the boy’s mother and Norris.
Uyesugi is being held at the Monroe County Jail with a $5,000 bail. No court date has been set.

I was just noticing here and on UM and in general, in documentaries and such, the prevalence of so-called "demonologists" and exorcisms - people don't seem to be content with ghosts and spirits any longer, they need something else to blame, something much more sinister and dangerous, and it seems like everytime that gets the focus, people start ACTUALLY getting hurt. It seems like none of these things escalate to such a precipice until some dim bulb proffers "Hey, you know, I bet it's a demon!"

I second your suggestion Chupa! The actions taken by that man are so wrong in many levels, and the mother so ignorant to believing that her son's medical condition could be 'cured' with exorcism.

Exorcisms are very hard to do. You normally do not hear about those that fail, like in this case.
