Full Version: What Places have you Investigated? Where are you headed?
Ghost Mysteries Discussion Forums > Ghost Mysteries > Investigation and Research
Vemkeit
I was thinking about all the stories the members have talked about and the places some have been, so I was curious to see where people have already investigated? Also where they plan or would like to go next? I would also like to see any advice on places members have investigated any insider "I have been there" tips incase another member plans to conduct their own investigation.

I will be posting my details about my investigations soon too. It will be great to see everyone compare notes.

good idea mister Vemkeit,
as long, like a movie preview...no spoilers are attached...lol....well actually, the best part of a nocturnal ghost hunt is knowing the history of a site i guess...

If you know the ghost stories behind the site that your visiting, then you know where to look for any spirit activity, now the object of this post is GM has a lot of members and some of them have gone to sites of hauntings, even though they may not get anything they still have been there unlike some of us but some members would like to visit the same site that say Gigan has visited so if the members would like to visit that same site since gigan has been there then he would have far more knowledge about the site then the other members would and so on...

Well for starters, I never go anywhere without some holywater and my sharp wooden spike.
But seriously, apart from the five W of ghost"hunting" (who, what ect.), I believe the most
important precaution to take is to be very selective of the persons that will accompany you on
your investigation.
This also implies people that show up with people they've met in a bar a few hours earlier;
"Hi this is [ nickname] I've told him/her about our plans and he/she thought it sounded like fun."
They think the whole thing is a joke, they'll screw around and if your location is haunted by a
darkone( darkones usually keep other spirits bound to a location, they're very dangerous)
you'll might experience some trouble getting out of there safely( one wonders).

Also avoid the shihatsu/reiki/wicca/"I-wish-I-was-Buffy"people, they'll prance around the site
feeling the "energies" from the floornails to the rooftiles.
Calling out to the poor lost soul; "go towards the light gentle spirit, be free....".
Until someone/thing actually feels the need to shine a light on the whole operation and the only
thing you'll hear on your EVP is "Buffy" shrieking and cussing and telling the gentle spirit to go
anywhere butt the light.
That's why I like to go alone or with someone I know( and I mean KNOW) very well and why
I drink in the morning............,buffy.

After reading your post I also believe its important for those who are contacting Spirits to know what can happen if they don't treat these ghosthuntings and delving into the supernatural in a serious way.

I would also suggest that many people play about hauntings and ghosts and go into it making fun and causing a lot of problems and this is why I would suggest to anyone who wants to delive into the Supernatural might like to read what I have posted in my writings: "Do you Believe in Spirit Possessions"

I know many believe I am either making this up or looking for attention but my reason for writing this is to tell others what I have been through over the past twenty years.

What I write is all the absolute truth although I don't know how to prove this to others.

I don't as yet know all the secrets of Spirit Communications and Investigations into the world beyond Earth but I do know enough to know that some of the Benovelant Spirits we encounter and whom wae believe to be demons may be the Spirits of disgruntled Relatives and others who look back at earth and ask themselves, why am I her when someone like he or she is free to poke at me and cause me unhappiness and not even believe I am real or that I have feelings.

I have learned that benovelant Spirits and what is termed Evil Spirits and Demons can in most cases just be the Spirits of deceased members of society who want to come back and torment people on Earth for whatever purpose and at this time I don't know how to get rid of them once they get riled up against us and see that we are willing to write about them to get them off our backs.
That is why I have told my Story in:
"Do You Believe in Spirit Possessions?"
Zophim
Honestly,....I've thought about quoting you, quoting me just to make my point.
I've plowed/wrestled/waded myself thru your "Do you believe in spirit possessions" topic
and with the danger of you calling me "an evil spirit walking the earth" too.
I'll have to say; "for a possessed chick you sound pretty lonely".
Not that I don't believe this is possible, but I've personally found that atleast 98% of
these possessions are nothing more then; paranoid hysteria/schizophrenia.
Not that I think that this is the case with you.
It's just that the nature and length of your replies to any form of criticism, well........worries me.
Whatever's wrong I believe that faith, courage and an open mind to ALL the possibilities
will get you thru this.
Having said this I'll have to state that I'm just an humble ectoplasm, so....

I wish all the luck and peace of mind,

Z.

I visited Newby Church in North Yorkshire last summer. As many member will know, a famous ghost photo was taken there in the 1960s which shows a strange hooded figure that some people think might be a monk, although it is possible the ghost is a leper. The authentic nature of the ghost has been the subject of debate due to what people think of as its "fake" appearance- and also, the ghost is strangely tall.

I photgraphed the altar, as well as many other areas of the church, but nothing turned up in my photos. I have never heard of anyone else photographing the altar since the famous picture was taken, and the ghost has still never been seen. I was very disappointed that the ghost didn't appear on my negatives.

Welll happy ghosthunting and hopefully you never have the experiences I have had because if you do you will find that most people take the attitude you and others have.

Some Psychics and Ghosthunters I believe try to discredit these possessing stories because if they believed them and their associates believe them there would be no Ghosthunters and or Psychic Channells because they would be too terrified to do that.

For exmaple Sylvia Browne who appears on Montel Williams all the time tells people who come to her complaining about the things I am writing about tells them this can't happen, and if she believes this to be true either she is ignorant to the truth, or she chooses to take that attitude because if people begin to believe the truth about the Supernatural her customer base would disappear.

Make no mistake I am not lonely, and I am not dillussional, but one of the Possessing Spirits who was a well known Psychiatrist in our area is having quite a laugh because no one will believe he is doing this to me.

The only satisfaction I have in this situation is since he began doing this his wife and son have passed over and now he is too scared to leave my body and join them because one of the Guides has threatened to destroy him when he comes out and he is now too chicken to come out and confront that Guide and force him to prove he has this power over him.

Hey Glam,
be sure to take plenty of pics.
And if you do make it to waverly hills and have the time,
head up north to Indpls.In. and check out The Hanna House.
If you time it right you mite be able to join an Investigative team
and visit rooms that are usually off limits to regular tours thumbsup.gif

Yes it's quite famous here in Indy.

Hanna House on Madison Ave.
Legend: Underground railroad stop. Fire in basement killed slaves, who were then buried in basement. Child was stillborn in second floor bedroom.
Phenomena: Noises from basement, choking sensation. Strange smells from second floor bedroom.

I first heard of this place when I was about 12 or 13 on a radio show "Halloween Special",
In the basement where the slaves were burnt to death,
they say sometimes you can smell the sweat or burning flesh, and terrible moans and screams.
On the second floor, i'm assuming where the child was stillborn is the room they have blocked off(so iv heard)
It may be freezing cold, the smell of rotten flesh
and they say most people can't stay in the room very long without feeling sick or becoming very ill.
The Mansion has been renovated and looks very nice,
Even today passers bye report seeing ghostly slaves walking the grounds.
So yeah, if you get the chance check it out. Just plan ahead so you can find the right tour/investigative team.
If I have the extra cash at the time I would join you, that would be a Blast! yes.gif

I havent actually "investigated" any places really, but ive been to many haunted locations, personally ive lived in 2 houses that were haunted, ive been to St. Augustine Florida, which is one of my favorite places to go not just for the haunts but for the old time atmosphere, ive lived in Fredricksburg VA which is pretty much the heart of alot of the civil war battles, theres a few places here now where i live in Melbourne fl that has a few great resteraunts that are reportly haunted, but my absolute favorite place ive been so far even though nothing happened was Rose Hall in Jamacia now that was memorable, heres some pictures, it just looks creepy lol but it has a vibe about it idk what it is.....

LIGhostChick
We're headed to Salem next weekend, I can't wait. If you want to experience a very active place, check out Rolling Hills Asylum in Bethany, NY. We were there about 4 months ago, it's so far the best place we've been to. Definately going back next year.
Cheryl
Did anything happen at the asylum while you were there?

Wow - I'd love to go to Salem. Have a great time.

besides being ultra busy with the whole "waking the dead" idea, I probally will try to drag the old Goat and Iwona off to check out to one of my fave sinister sights..its an old tumble down building that many "clairvoyants" and psychics wont even enter..security guards will no longer patrol it...its right in the heart of melbourne and was the sight of more than one grisly murder(actually, in a place like melbourne, its hard not to find a place that hasnt been the site of a grisly murder!)
"Grisly" my new fave word for the week i think...
Zeus
I'd love to visit the Waverly Hills Sanatorium, most haunted place on earth in My point of view, 65 thousand people died there out of tuberculosis.
Hades
I think when i get the time and money for equiptment, im thinking of going to that place in town that I wrote a story about. If u have no idea of what im talking about, i give u a brief summary. Near the town pond, their is a house that belonged to a man named John Sprout. He still resides in the building with a unidentified elderly woman. My sourse claims that John is able to talk to anybody, and is usually very friendly. I think having a intellectual haunting less then twenty minutes away is somewhat of a treat.
Hades
oops, srry i posted my first post twice by accident

I would love to go on an investigation! I have never done anything like that, and the expierience would definetly be one to remember. I live near Toronto, and there are plenty of haunted sites, it's just the matter of finding a group to go with. Goodluck to anyone who is doing investigations, and I am green with envy!!
LIGhostChick
Yes we experienced many things at Rolling Hills Asylum. We were there for a lights out investigation from 10pm-6am. It was an amazing experience & I can't wait to do it again. We're also headed to Waverly Hills Asylum in Kentucky where 63,000 people died. Anyone interested in this place should check out the documentary called "Spooked". Great documentary! We're also hitting up Eastern Staten Penn, West Virginia Penn & Mansfield Reformatory in 2008.

ah lilghostchick that's my favorite haunted place on earth, you're so lucky lol, take some pics, I've seen some Amazing moving orbs (pics and vids) of waverly hills.
LIGhostChick
Rolling Hills is very active. There's an entire wing called the "shadow people" hallway. A few of us saw them, unexplained loud no bangings, doors being slammed, footsteps etc. I had my hair flung into my face. I know it doesnt sound that great in writing, you have to experience it for yourself. It's very very active & I can't wait to go back. We've been to the Stanely Hotel & we'll be at the Queen Mary in december. Very exciting stuff.

awesome!

Unfortunately nothing happened at the Stanley. But I think it had alot to do with the fact that there were so many people there. We went on a T.A.P.S. retreat so it was hundreds of people trying to investigate. Nothing paranormal. And Zeus, yes that is Rolling Hills. Amazing place & very very active. This is a place to take a skeptic.

today is the day that i abduct, i mean guide Goatboy and Iwona on a brief, but enlightening tour of haunted melbourne....
will report how it all goes, unless its just boring.
have packed a ghost hunting kit, with all the usual bits and pieces..and some clean underware for Mr and Mrs Goat incase they **** themselves.
but how do i now convince that clever old Goat that the only haunted places are those fine corner establishments that trade in the cold beverage industry?
(and later, i may even investigate as to if the Kebab shop is possessed....all in the name of science and paraletic..opps..paranormal investigation)

btw...i'm only joking...i never eat kebabs....

We have been to Waverly twice and are heading back in March for two back to back 8 hour investigations. If you have never been, don't hesitate to go if you get a chance. We have investigated many places and for 2008 we have got the ok to investigate the USS North Carolina, and a very famous haunted place in Nevada. Also have an ok to investigate Leap Castle in Ireland for the coming year. We also have a place that is close to us that in my opinion is indeed haunted.
