One really good book is Ghosts and How To See Them by Peter Underwood. It should be available on Amazon. Peter Underwood is a brilliant ghost researcher and the book includes some interesting theories and details about different kinds of ghosts, as well as information on haunted sites and some well-known ghost photos.

I agree with Matt. I have a number of books by Peter Underwood, and can highly recommend any of them. Do a google search with his name, and you should find some. One particularly good book he published is called 'The A~Z of British Ghosts'.
