Double bridge road
Submitted by Desi
As long as I can recall, there has always been two bridges in Judsonia that were completely made of wood. I hate bridges and never liked crossing them. But on Sunday afternoons we would all get into my dad\'s truck and take a ride. One Sunday in fall I remember my dad taking us down this long winding dirt road, I got creeped out cause of the trees blocked the light from the sun and it seemed so dark. We aproached the first bridge, and my dad asked us if we heard what happened here on Double Bridge Road? Me and my younger sister said no of course and then he began telling us about in the late 1800\'s there was this terrible accident with a woman and a buggy, she apparently had stopped near the first bridge to check her wooden Wheel to see if it was damaged. Nothing seemed to be wrong with it. But, when she went to get back on the buggy, the horse got spooked and she fell off the side, and the horse started to run with the buggy, and the woman tried to grab ahold of the buggy\'s side, and she missed and the Wooden wheel caught her hair and pulled it along with it until the next bridge ahead, and when it went over the bridge her neck was broke, and her head got cut off by the wheel, and it rolled down to creek and was never found. He went on to say that everynight she would come searching for her head. That many people had seen her headless ghost floating above the creek. Needless to say me and my sister were terrified! Though we found out later that the county actually had the bridges removed because of people disturbing the peace and the bridges were unsafe. People still come to the spot but, most say that they never see anything anymore. So, i say let her rest in peace now.
