The spam problem is getting worse everywhere, UM is getting inundated with spammers and it's a constant struggle to deal with them. Given the size of GM i'm surprised there are so many here.

.Saru, I agree with this. GP is the same. But for whatever reason, GP is VERY lucky... these scripts seem to join but not post on GP. Feel free to have a nosey in the ACP settings to see if there's anything you can do here to try to stop them posting...It's most annoying though

hey guys, you're all right, spammers are as dumb as 12 year old kids who claim to be hackers after opening a command shell window, wow, great deal. oh well, but, as long as there are Anonymous proxy servers and Static IP addresses (dial up mostly) we will never get rid of Spammers. (just as hard as destroying the whole internet). . . EDIT: removed link and some of your post, I don't think it's necessary. The norty post is gone now. Thank you

I think a lot of them are actually humans rather than bots, people in some countries get paid to post a spam message on x number of on-line forums in return for a fixed sum. ..The CAPTCHA and e-mail validation systems should keep the automatic bots out, with any luck.

These are already in place, they are software features of Invision Board, nothing to do with server hardware.

It's so frustrating, here we are, a bunch of people just wanting to share experiences and discussion, and this is what we have to see on our purty likkle board. Tell me about it... It gives such a bad impression. I hope no-one comes to the site and see's jessica alba's kebab and thinks its not a very family orientated site. I think the usual spam is almost forgivable but the pictures are getting out of control, I know theres quite a few younger users on this site and it really would be sad if they left or stopped visiting because of parental concerns etc....

.well, we'll keep a close watch on that, I am glad that the members have also been reporting the spammers, which shows what a responsible bunch they are. ..Jessica Alba's kebab? omg I laughed at that!

Interestingly enough it seems to have calmed down over the past week.... lets hope it stays that way.... . Did the new board bring most of it to an end? Good job either way!
