Here is the letter I just sent to the management of the Queen Mary Ship.. I think you all will find this interesting:

Quote

Hello,
My name is John Ir**ng and I have an interesting bit of information concerning the Ghosts of this ship.
As a young boy we visited the Queen Mary ship in Long Beach. For the last 30+ years I have been telling my family that I saw a ghost of the ship's captain. He was in full Captain's attire, and he was arguing with some lady in a 30's type dress. Well he kept screaming at her, and her back at him, while slamming some door which had mirrors on it I believe. Or was shiny maybe with something brass on it.

Well, nobody believed me about this story until last night. That's when I received the Ir**ng family ring from my father, also named John Ir**ng, which is at least 175 years old. It peaked my interest to do a genealogy search on the Ir**ng Family. As I was searching I came across this information:

Commodore Robert B. Ir**ng in 1936-37 was indeed a Captain of this ship, he was the son of one John Ir**ng. Weird right?

So there you have it, Proof that Ghosts do exist on your ship. And I would like to return there someday soon to maybe get a chance to see him again. Do you by chance have any additional info on Captain Ir**ng that you could share with me?

Sincerely,
John Ir**ng

So there you go... Yes there are definitely ghosts on that ship. I know I saw them. Not only that, one is my ancestor! :)

That is a very cool story and very cool that you're related to a captain of the ship :)

I'm not following how that's proof though or exactly what you saw, or how you saw it. Did you see it happen as if they were there actually standing there in front of you or was it more like a memory "playing" in your head as you were on the ship?

Thanks for sharing the geneology and the letter :w00t:

Well, we were all walking together through the ship during a tour. My mother was holding my hand. I thought what I was seeing and hearing was part of the tour. I was around 7-8 years old. I vividly remember the two figures. As the tour guide continued leading us through the ship my eyes were fixed on these two apparitions until they came out of sight.. Like I was awe struck with my jaw hanging open. Kind of hard to explain really, I just know what I saw. I am 40 now, I spent 32 years wondering why I saw this and nobody else did. When I was around 25 or so, we were talking about the Queen Mary tour.. And I asked everyone in my family if they had seen the same thing I did, and everyone thought I was crazy. Now that I found out this information, they are all freaking out.

Also, many people that have been on this ship have seen this same lady I am referring to, or someone resembling her, in many various places. As far as I can tell there haven't been any other sightings of the ship's captain other than mine..And I am his relative... Just too weird.

Great story and thank you for sharing.

It is very interesting that you related to the Captain, very cool

Sadly it is not proof that ghosts are real, if it were you would be a very wealthy man.

if you are it's not because you've proved ghosts exist.

I've been looking for proof for YEARS and while I've documented some cool stuff, I cant prove anything to anyone much less get rich from it....but thats not why I ghost hunt anyway.
