Here it is people my long rant of "Paranormal State" oh where to start where to start?.I know lets start with the leader of the group Ryan Buell. In one of the on demand special that introduces the group members Ryan Buell states he is a expert in the field of paranormal research. This is not true he is no expert in the field. What he is is a "Self proclaimed expert" in the paranormal. To be a expert in a field you first need to have special skill or knowledge and authority in some particular field NEW innovative findings or have substantial influence on the field. This kid has not done any thing new or innovative. I have read I crap load of book's on the paranormal and been in a quit a few paranormal research groups as well as fallowed other paranormal researchers and their log journals parers etc... and I would not call my self a "expert" but if knowledge is all you need to be a expert well then every person on this web site or that has watched one tv show on the paranormal is a expert! I would only say i have a good knowledge base in the paranormal . ..And I'm going to now use all of my talents to rip this show a new one! Ok Ryan stop with all the "ooooo the devil is fallowing me" crap. I love how he never says the name but coincidently a psychic writes it down on a piece of paper and wow it's the same OMG! I don't think so dude If a demon had beef with you, you wouldn't be able to get out of bed in the morning. And a demon would never I mean NEVER tell you his name if you have ever done a little bit of reading you would know that if you know the demon's name you can control the demon. Or get rid of him. Man Ryan I think you like drama more then you like sex or breathing. Also They have a occult member performing rituals in the show. wow how unscientific is that. magic is a unproven practice in the world of science and if you are going to be a paranormal researchers you really need to be scientific. That is what the field is all about. the point is to validate the evidence gathered to further the legitimacy of the paranormal field. You know out of fantasy in to reality...I must say I do like watching the show it's just so BAD like a Troma film. Its like watching a donkey show it so horrible you can't take your eye's off it (I would like to thank Kevin smith for that analogue!) the only show it's really competing with is Most haunted for the most fictional reality based paranormal research show. There is on debunking in the show they don't even try to debunk any thing! Oh I love their equipment oooo Fancie stuff I really like the Walmart special motion detectors and how Ryan says "we calibrated them" lol you can't calibrated them. lol By calibrated he mean positioning them. Give me a brake I dont think this show is going to last to long at all. It's a "slap in the face" to real paranormal researchers. If any of you are really interested in a good paranormal researchers show and most of you know ghost hunters on Scifi is a much better show. I must say I did like the first episode of Paranormal State it lead me to believe the show was going to be good. They did good research in proving the little kid was seeing dead people. Sad to say that was all the good research they had done so far...And what is with the Directors log! MORE DRAMA!!!! I think the14u2cee said it best "Directors log, date unknown: The Demon is again following me, today we have George Bush and Osama bin Laden looking for EVP"s at the White House with special guest Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton investigating the white man....". its like a bad Star trak rip off. And what is with Kelly dating Dillon ops! Wrong show with all the drama I get them a little mixed up. If I had more time I would love to stay up and rail on the show longer but it is late now. So my final thought is with shows like that on the air it only hurts the validity of the paranormal research field. If people just go around believing any old thing the field will aways have shadow's of doubt's on it and will never be taken serious. ..I'm The spectacular Fred man and that is my opinion..

.Well...where would the paranormal be; if it was not for the demons and gremlins that take away the 'layer from the cake'?..We have a depth of paraphanalia, ranging from spiritual awareness, angelic comminion to visitations from advanced beings, but instead go around chasing demented souls for a 'thrill of a life time'..It would sadden a lot of people to realise that the paranormal is nothing more than a whole universe of superior life, that reigns pity on the human race for it's belief in it's own superior esteem...Instead, we have a fascinating subject that no properly qualified interlect will take on; in fear of redicule!..Science will simply not risk it's reputation on a load of old crank ideas; to validate a subject that has no virtual existance in the physical world!..Instead we have a 'two a penny' association who has little to lose apart from the respect that it never really had in the first palce!..So instead of promoting the REAL ESSENSE of paranormal it goes around chasing demons to give people a few thrills, so that they may gain a bit of interest and save a bit of money on fairground rides!..Take aaway the thrill aspect, and you have a dead subject, with little interest other than what is going to interfere with THEIR religion?..Seriousness, means religion. Touch upon religion and you have a human race interference of peoples right of belief...If that don't scare you, then it is hardly suprising that science is looking upon the whole subject with scorn?..So we have 'two bit' tinkerers including myself who can see and measure the obvious; except who really counts!..The sadnees is; that there are little thrills except the 'wake up' that shakes the so called 'normal' person into real space reality...People don't want to wake up, but instead dream on, about demons, bad aliens and all the crap that lies uder the buckets...Instead we have the science fiction films that addresses the so called new reseraches into more demons and fairy tales that go back to Victorian times!..People come face to face with themselves, and don't really like what confronts them. They see their own demons, created by own self pity, greed and frustration and feel threatened. The paranormal world is like a mirror. The first thing that stares back at you, is your self. If that ain't enough to shock you; then you may even look behind your image and see what is really going on?..To most; vanity remains at the doorstep...and that cannot be them, so they fear what the do not understand...To understand oneself, is a gift..For doing so; is to undestand others, which is why you all fail!..Failure, is not at all bad, providing we can learn by it?..georgek

Although I like to see people getting interested in the paranormal and having more reality paranormal shows to watch, I find that sometimes it can be difficult for some people to understand the concept of a haunting. I had watched the show numerous times for entertainment but it was always the same thing over and over. One thing I didn't . like was the emphasis on the spirit being evil. Sure, there are times where even I can say "Wow, that's messed up. That could be a demonic haunting" but that happens only rarely when the evidence supports the claim. When you go in and you think right off the bat that it's a wrath bringing demon then your totally ignoring what your purpose is. If your are an investigator, it is your job is to investigate, and not make assumptions without hard evidence. What Paranormal State does is pure amateur. They lack the experience of investigators in other shows and they slack on finding evidence which is critical to the basis of their show.. . Lets say we compare it to a show that I enjoy watching. I've been watching a lot of Ghost Adventures lately so lets go with that. On a side note, I actually didn't like GA at first, I thought the guys were like the frat boys of the investigating scene, but after the first season I realized how important they thought gathering evidence was and over the past five seasons they have recorded an astonishing collection of evidence, whether it be video or sound. PS seems to go on feelings and emotions and try to make it seem threatening by trying to reach out with the audience. While emotions and feelings are important to note down since sometimes external forces can influence people positively and negatively, it shouldn't be considered as evidence.. . People that have known me for a long time on this site understand my feelings towards ghosts and demons. Yes, they exist and they can be found throughout the world, but what brings this idea that there is so many evil spirits and demons? I can't point out when it started but for modern times I like to call it the "Exorcist Effect". Generally, when we think of spirits in the mainstream culture, we think of the horror genre which leads us to movies about spirits like The Exorcist and A Haunting and all that sort of thing and gives people this mentality that spirits are evil. Sure there are such spirits but they are the small minority. Most hauntings people will encounter will be those of the deceased, with no connections other than to where they haunt. They were people, and even though this might sound crazy, appealing to their lost humanity is the best way to connect with them.. . To make a long story short, Paranormal State is a terrible show that is easily out done by better shows such as Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth and Ghost Adventures. I do not recommend watching this show at all and I encourage you to watch something better. Not Most Haunted though, that show is utter garbage.

Hades."Never underestimate the power of the paranormal"

i like watching the show and understand why they use occultists as well as priests and any other people as it gives a view of all sides and helps explain some of the phenomena..as for them finding more evil or bad spirits or demons well i must admit in my spiritual work within the last year i have noticed a great serge of not so nice spirits or entities ..just look at our world it is becoming a much nastier place so why wouldnt the nastier more evil spirits show themselves now x

Again, I love these shows that bring the paranormal to the mainstream. When I was a kid growing up in the sixties and realized I was physcic and could see and sense spirits, It wasn't talked about, if you did, you were considered insane for real. So these shows have their purpose that way, the thing that bothers me is, the misinformation they are spewing. Seriously? my gosh constant barrage of misinformation. it's sad because non experiencers but believers believe what they say, and this fictional "expert" status they give themselves is bizarre to say the least. that includes Ghost hunters and the rest of them. Ryan Buell, had one experience that fueled him, there are people like me who have spent an entire lifetime from the crib experiencing, these are the people who might have some real information. but these guys. sad, and just so y ou all know Ryan, religion doesn't matter it's manmade has nothing to do with God, except that in some cases it does help connect some people to god.
