Just seen the commercial a while ago....

PARANORMAL STATE is an upcoming half-hour series chronicling the extraordinary life of Ryan Buell and other members of the Penn State University Club The Paranormal Research Society (PRS) as they seek to find the truth behind terrifying real life mysteries, hauntings and ghosts. In some ways, the members of PRS are your basic college kids - dealing with the problems of school, dating, and finding their way in the world. The difference is that these students are drawn to examining "other" worlds as well -- working on cases that include ghosts, hauntings and other paranormal phenomena. Each week, they are contacted for help by outside parties ranging from the Catholic Church to ordinary families who are terrified by unusual events in their homes.

They do sound alot like TAPS, I guess we will see at the first airing on the 10th. I just wish it was a little longer than a half hour long. I know J and Grant do alot of guest speaking at Penn State, so more than likely, these new guys learned alot from them, or so I hope.

I got this link in an E-Mail this morning from www.unexplainedWorld.com

I visited the site and it looks like a great website to visit along of course with the reading about things they are going to do and are doing.

I don't have cable, and can't watch most of those site but I did send them an E-Mail outlining my experiences and I am hoping someone will get back to me and have a way of helping me with my Spirit Possession Problem which I have written about on here.

They are connected to movies and while I never sought publicity I have no choice if I want to try to focus on these four possessing spirits and try to find a way to drive them out of my body and away from me.

They have quite a line up of investigators and psychics and I am hoping someone can verify my story by trying to communicate with the Spirits I am having trouble with as well as the Guides who are trying to help me find a way out of my predicament.

Anyway a wonderful site to visit, and read the authors and other story tellers on the site.
And if you haven't visited www.unexplainedworld.com to get updates on these kinds of sites and films and etc. I would recommend it althogh I have no connection to any of these sites, just thought I would mention it.

I've been seeing this on TV too. Looks interesting, thats for sure. The only thing thats not sitting quite right with me at this time is that it looks a little too 'acted', maybe its the little kid in the commercial that says 'I think they're after me' seems scripted, I don't know. Hopefully I will be pleasantly suprised.

There's another show coming out in January called, "Ghost Hunters International". A few of the people from TAPS, (Bryan, Dustin, Donna, etc) are in it.

I agree with Gigan. Even though it says "based on actual events" everything in the commercial sounds to scripted to me.

Which one did you see?

What didn't you like about it?

(we should probably hop over to the TAPS thread for this)

It looks interesting enough, plus its something new to watch.. no harm in giving it a shot.

Tv execs always hype up their new shows in the hopes it'll pay off in huge ratings.

Docu-drama...I hope its a little more documentary than drama..we have far too much drama in tv these days without people adding to it.

We shall see Monday... :tu:

Ughhhh! Paranormal State is on at the same time as The Hills finale! I thik MTV replays the Hills later, I hope, because I am really looking forward to Paranormal State.
That was a bunch of useless blabberring!

So, the first show, I was not really impressed! It wasn't anything special, and they really seem to focus on religion (which I have no problem with, but I don't think blessing a house is really getting to the root of the problem). I think it was hyped up alot more than it should have been. The next few shows look okay, but it's not something I would be too upset about missing.

Thanks for that small info, now I know I won't be watching this show even if they shove it in my face.

I couldn't agree more...I didn't get my hopes up too much but I watched the show last night and definitely felt that it was very "Hollywood"...the narrative commentary by the "director" / actor of the show got annoying real quick.

The dramatic music, the heavy footsteps, etc...I MIGHT give the show another chance. In conclusion: I was very disappointed. The first show revealed that every place they are going to visit is haunted and will have no attempt to debunk any of it, unlike a certain group that does

EDIT: Feenix could you make your sig a bit smaller, i believe there are restrictions on this forum pertaining to that...Thanks :tu:
