Its called"Lucid Dreaming"
apparently happens to alot of people, but they dont always realise it.
you can actually develope it, and take concious controll of your dreams...i think there is a good book about this in my library...i'll dig it out and let you know the title...

Yes, I've had this experience before. It was around 5-6 years ago. I had no idea there was a name for it. I dreamt I was lying in bed, and then realised I was dreaming. I took control of the dream and wished myself out the window. I wanted to fly over my neighbourhood. But, when I tried to fly, I could only get a few feet off the ground. So perhaps there are limits as to how much one can control their dreams?

It happened again on the following night, though not to the same intensity, and I quickly woke up. I haven't had an experience like that since

But, if it's a skill that can be developed.. who knows?

Lucid Dreaming... now I know it has a name. Thanks!

just like fordo said brunettechick, it is called Lucid dreaming, and it CAN be achieved on purpose, I've done it quite a few times now and honestly (no joke) still work and try hard at night to try and make it before I go to sleep, the key is in realizing when you fell asleep and still know your mind is still working, but asleep.

My Opinion:
Lucid Dream is a term coined by a Psychologist or Psychiatrist who probably doesn't believe in the Paranormal and they label everything like this as Lucid Dreaming or subconscious mind and may never really know that most dreams are actually put into our thoughts by Minds in the World Beyond Earth which of course is also called Life after Death.
I and many Psychic Channells for Spirit will discuss things with our guides and ask Questions and quite often they will give us answers in our dreams.

At times things will come to us from a place I know as Universal Mind and the Akaskic Records and when that happens sometimes it can be looks into the future and when this happens people will talk about having a dream about an accident or death which comes true and at that time some people will label this Premonition and or clairvoyance.

One Dream for Example that I had in the Eighties during the Pursian Gulf war is one morning just before awakening I saw a Missile hit a ship in the waters of the Persian Gulf and about three hours after I got up I was watching the News and saw the exact thing I had seen in my Dream when a Missile hit the U.S. Stark causing many Casualities.

That is only one example.
Another time I had a dream where I was in the Middle of a Nuclear Accident and we have such a Nuclear plant in our vicinity and I could see the exact spot on the facility that would cause the problem and the Nuclear catastrophe.

The problem I saw with the Nuclear Plant didn't occur until about 15 years later and it was caught in time but when it was the problem which could have caused the accident was in the exact spot I had seen in my earlier Dream Message which I know now was a look into the future.

I believe all dreams should be written down immediately upon awakening, timed and dated and studied because of the kinds of looks into the future someone dabbling in the paranormal can receive once they open themselves up to the Paranormal Experience.

Almost all Psychics will tell you the things I am saying here because they know from experiece this is true.

Not everything in life is a conspiracy. This is actually a real thing. Lucid dreaming is the state in which you are dreaming but aware of the fact that it is a dream. The psychiartrists around the world did not get together to cover up the spirit world by "coining the phrase Lucid dreams". Sometimes, it just is what it is.

I didn't mean that all psychiatrists got together to cover up something.
All I am saying is if you talk to many Psychiatrists they do not attribute anything to the paranormal and in fact many of them don't even believe in these things.
There are however a few now who are exploring these things thank goodness.

I dont think anyone is trying to say that there is no connection with lucid dreaming and the paranormal, i for one have trained myself to do this, i find it aids me in dealing with the spirit world and helps me get the answers i am looking for in my everyday life, most of my spiritual work is done while i am asleep, your mind is more adaptable in this state of mind. :)

Never had a lucid dreaming experience myself, but it reminds me of an article I read in Reader's Digest.....They talked about trained therapists who could help you to dream lucidly, and they encouraged you to try and solve your problems through it. A device was mentioned which alerted readers in their sleep that they were dreaming so that they could take control of it......

............P.S. The online version is still up...check it out:

Big difference between being aware you are dreaming whilst you are and being in control of the dream itself.

Just sayin'...

GOod call, those who control dreams can decide when to wake up, and when not to wake up, but those who simply know it's a dream are still controlled by it.

Your right Scout, I always right it down, after waking up...like a journal.

Unfortunally, my family is the biggest bunch of sceptics you'll ever meet, and they think all this time thinking about ghost is a waste. I've shown videos and pics and still they deny anything that I throw at them. I have had experiences of ghosts and wish to have more!
