Since 1966, the number of women receiving bachelor's degrees in science and engineering in the U.S. has increased almost every year, reaching 202,583 in 2001, approximately half of the total. The number awarded to men has not increased significantly since 1976. The proportion of women graduate students in science and engineering has risen since 1991, reaching 41% in 2001. Substantial differences between subjects are seen, however, with women accounting for almost three-quarters of those enrolled in psychology in 2001, but only 30% in computer science and 20% in engineering. Both the number and the proportion of doctoral degrees in science and engineering awarded to women have increased steadily since 1966, from 8% in 1966 to 37% in 2001. The number of doctoral degrees awarded to men peaked in 1996 and has since fallen.

I agree with you Iwona! :w00t:

how often do you find a woman that knows something a chemistry? not too often.

That takes either balls or stupidity to say and Im not sure which one it is as of yet.

I know plenty of men and women and some are more paranoid than the others but I wouldnt say women are more paranoid than men or vice versa.

In my experience with friends and family that have seen ghosts...all the people I know that have are women and none of the men have. This is why I posted this as a legit question.

Sorry for my double post everyone.

Okay in my Bio-Medical (Chemistry, doctors, and that stuff) program at school, there were twice as many girls enrolled than males.
I'm sorry to burst your little "men are smarter" bubble,
but the only reason it's been like this for so long is that fact we didn't even get to vote until the 1920's in America anyway.
and there are still countries that opress their women.
We haven't had the opportunities to get educated until recently and the women in the past were getting rid of ideas their mother's gave them, It takes a while.
If you'd go to any chemistry class at least in my school you'd see a lot more girls than guys.

Yep nice find cheryl indeed, but since when does a profession title say anything about a person? I've seen drug addicts that work as lawyers, but I'd like to see you try and do research who the world's best scientists are, who the world's best chefs are, who the world's best singers are, who the world's best programmers are, men or women? =) (no offense to anyone of course)

oh rooster it didn't take balls at all, unless it's hard for you to say what you think, and it was not stupidity either if it's what I've seen in my life, My short life :P some men and women might say what you asked might be stupid as many claim to know the answer right away.

Trust me I am more outspoken than people may think and have often been referred to as an a-hole but I try to chose my words wisely so I do not offend others. Especially on a message board where its not always easy to tell if someone is serious or just joking.

Why does it always have to come down to who is smarter?

I would much rather be educated on a subject or spend time analyzing something, especially of a paranormal nature than just saying.. "Yep, its a ghost", its just who I am

We're all humans, we all have brains, both sexes are capable of achieving great things as well as horrible things, both sexes have paranoid nutbags in varying degrees.

you never could say it better, everyone says what you'd say, and everyone says it beautifully huh? lol.. Please start typing down your own opinions as well lily =)

and by the way, Alia, I believe in what you say, but from MY own experience (as I HAVE SAID in the first post I made) I see more women who are paranoid about the paranormal than guys, None of you should take offense at that, girls or guys, and as I said on my SECOND post, I type what I SEE, and rooster, I choose my words wisely, perhaps far more than you, hell you start using tiny big words such as "crap" , " turd " or "lame" often when you don't like something, so don't be a hypocrite, I got nothing against anyone here and I don't take anything personal since None of you even know my last name, I'm here to gain knowledge, so are you, at a certain level of respect, so are you, so let's say what we think , but with proof, be it personal experience, or specific facts, not just with insulting opinions =)

It's G-M people, debate, don't fight. (Except for Fordo and Goat who actually Enjoy doing it)

I'll tell you my opinion.
I think you're a rude chauvinist pig. (With all due merry-friggin-respect)
I agree with a lot of people because i'm this new thing called "open-minded"
I'm sorry that sometimes I agree with people and don't like to be repetitve.
Ali made a good point, I agreed.
I guess I won't be putting in my agreeing posts anymore cause it make you a bit uneasy.
Sorry in advance if this comes off as rather B****y
I haven't had that great of a day.

lol ! If you had chosen your words wisely then why is that so many women were offended? Talk about hypocrite...

Now I was gonna stay out of this cause I had already said my peace on the previous page but since you see fit to drag my name into it then Im just gonna have to jump back in I guess. As far as "little big words"...well Im just trying to use words that you will understand. Im just trying to keep it simple for ya Glammy...kinda like " see dick run" and "see Jane run". I also used these words cause this is a board in which swearing isnt allowed even though there is a filter for them otherwise I could make my posts much more colorful for ya.

Maybe I'll try and spice it up with big words such as poop, pee, gosh darnit, dang nabbit and stuff like that. :w00t:

Glammy:
I'm sorry for the name calling
It's just lately, you've been really, well I think rude to people.
You haven't let them express their opinions and you've been a bit condescending.
I really didn't appreciate your comment though.
That I just go around agreeing with everyone like some air head bimbo.
I have my own opinions.
I am a feminist vegetarian so the mix of the two threads have rubbed me the wrong way.
I tend to bite my tounge until I reach a 'breaking point' and I did tonight.
If you want me to remove that post or edit it, I will.
I just don't like to be insulted especially in a condescending manner.
