It looks like a reflection coming off that glass-framed picture hanging there; the way its shaped and the second light spot below it on the wall a bit lower down could be coming from light through a window that has bounced/reflected off the glass frame onto the wall.

come come children, play nice. Rosie, I don't have a thing against you, but you're contradicting yourself Darlin. In one reply you said you don't believe the guy(s) and then in the very next one you're telling them, and everyone else, how you DO believe them and they "rock". Now, you can believe them or not, that's up to you but you can't believe them AND disbelieve them at the same time... gotta choose.

First question is are there any windows or openings at play in this hallway? Hallways are usually fairly narrow and an easy place for light to bounce around, not to mention the walls look white which helps this effect. If it happened for two weeks and went away it could be due to the relative position of the sun to the earth at that time of year and at what angle it entered the room. I've actually visibly seen patterns that looked like that in my own hallway before and I'm pretty sure it was just the sun doing it. Anyways it's a nice picture, if you could post a larger picture of the room and any ways light could enter the room, it would be definitely easier to tell if it's unexplainable or explainable.

Why would you be taking a photograph of a plain white wall? :)
